- Second round of names (advisory council)
- Authors chosen/invited to the first volume
- Schedule for the first volume
Names accepted to the advisory council
Matheus Zago started the meeting by presenting the group with an overview of the areas and proportional selection, based on institutional and regional representation (previously defined by the board). After, the members proceeded with the debate on which names from the list would be appointed to the council.
Thais Cavalcanti pointed out the relevance of broadening the professors and researchers network to those who are not based in the UE (not the same region as BRaS-J).
Until this date, 32 names have been selected.
Considering the limited number of candidates for three areas, Lucas Fraga, Professor Vinicio Carrilho e Anna Bennech will have an extended period to indicate and invite more candidates.
Second round of names
The member voted and decided to have a second round for a new list of names, following the same format of the 1st round. Voting on google forms by the 26th.
Authors chosen/invited to the first volume
Thais Cavalcanti reminded that a late selection of names for the council could delay the selection of names for the first issue and, consequently its publication.
Doctor Thomas Kestler commented that two names or more per area would be needed, if they want to work with this “margin”, anticipating any issues of delay, lack of articles, etc. A second round for publishing invitations can also be done.
Regarding the title of the first volume, Matheus Zago reminded all that this would be “open”, and Doctor Thomas Kestler suggested the board should ask the council member for suggestions on this. He also pointed out that the board should keep an eye on that, so the journal does not comprise only articles on Political Science.
Thais Cavalcanti added that the professors and researchers invited may need to extend the deadline.
Schedule for the first volume
Thais Cavalcanti noted that the schedule is closely related to the quality and standards of the articles under assessment, that is, there should be time to send feedback and comments to the authors as well as request any amendments. Both Thais Cavalcanti and Doctor Thomas Kestler suggested, to start with the texts already in English, then proceed to texts needing to be translated.
The member discussed and agreed on:
– 6 months to authors send their full texts.
– Deadline: March 2022.
