The Center for Ethics, Politics and Society – CEPS of the University of Minho opens a call for two (2) research grants, designated as Doctorate Research Grants, in the area of Ethics and Political Philosophy, under the FCT (RBI) Research Grant Regulations and the Research Grant Holder Statute (EBI).

CEPS is an organic research unit of the Institute of Arts and Humanities of the University of Minho that aims at high-level scientific research in the area of Philosophy, especially in the fields of Political Theory and Applied Ethics.

The scholarships will be funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the Collaboration Protocol for Funding the Multiannual Plan of Research Scholarships for PhD Students, signed between the FCT and CEPS under the reference UID/04952/2020.

The PhD research scholarships are intended to finance research activities leading to the award of a doctoral degree at Portuguese universities.

The research activities leading to the award of the doctoral degree will take place at CEPS, which will be the host institution for the fellows, without affecting the work that may be carried out in collaboration between more than one institution.

The investigation activities that will lead to the award of the PhD degree of the selected fellows must be framed in the activities and strategy plan of CEPS, and must be developed in the scope of the PhD Philosophy Course of the University of Minho.

The work plan must fully take place in a national institution (scholarship in the country).

Each scholarship will last 12 months, renewable up to a maximum of 48 months, and may not be granted for a period of less than 3 consecutive months. The scholarships will start in 2020.

The call is open from November 24th to December 14th, 2020, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
