WordPress Developer/Designer Intern

The Brazilian Studies and Research Center’s (BRaS) core mission is to produce and diffuse social science transdisciplinary research on Brazil. Moreover, to provide researchers and civil society an easy-access platform to find and publish high-quality research. BRaS advocates for independent scientific research and knowledge exchange.

Do you want to improve BRaS website so that it becomes an enchanting digital experience? Are you interested in improving your skills and learning new ones in an international and collaborative environment with Political Science junior and senior researchers?

Your skills and requirements

  • Be enrolled in a Graphic Design or Computer Engineering undergraduate degree.

  • Have a good knowledge of WordPress and experience managing websites are an asset.

  • Previous experience in Web Design.

  • Have general knowledge of UX/UI.

  • Have an excellent written and oral level of English.

  • Autonomy and proactivity.

  • Be able to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Availability for around 4 hours per week.

Your tasks

  • Develop and improve the website in WordPress by adding features and improving its interface.

  • Manage and add content to the website.

  • Work with the Head of IT Department and the Head of Communications and PR Department to create and implement strategies to improve the website.

  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology.

  • Ensure a positive User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI).

  • Create actionable plans to improve the interface and the layout of a website in order to gain visibility.

BRaS members receive certificates for the activities developed at the Center. We emphasize that it is a remote position, and the WordPress Developer/Designer Intern activities are voluntary and unpaid.
